How to Heal Panic Attacks Effectively Beyond Any Complication?

People who experience a sudden intense fear or anxiety are actually experiencing a panic attack. This is not something that one needs to worry about, as it is actually more common that we think a person experiences it for several minutes, and it can happen to anyone at anytime, even while he or she is asleep.

There are many reasons why a person suffers from panic attacks. It could be a symptom of anxiety disorder, and has been shown to have a link with the transitions in oneÕ’s life, such as graduation, getting started with work, getting married, having a baby, and so on. When experiencing a great amount of stress, such as when one loses someone, a person can also experience a panic attack.

Dizziness, light-headedness, trembling, shortness of breath, palpitations, sweating, hyperventilation, and tingling sensations; these are some classic symptoms of a panic attack. Today, there are several medications available on the market, which are used as treatments for panic attacks. Antidepressant medicines such as Paroxetine and Sertraline are used to control the attacks, but are not just effective but practical, since it they allows you to maintain control over your personality. Propranolol, a medicine from the beta blockerbeta-blocker family, may also be used to treat the physical symptoms one experiences during a panic attack. Alprazolam and Clonazepam are also used to treat panic attacks, as they give immediate relief from fear and anxiety.

Dealing with anxiety attacks is quite easy nowadays; with a significant number of people experiencing it, more and more studies are conducted. For those who can do without medicines, there are also many other ways of curing panic attacks. Muscle and breathing therapy help people deal with the symptoms of panic attacks, whereas psychotherapy helps a person understand and therefore minimize the fear of symptoms, even helping one clear him or herself from the disorder.

Medications are no longer the only treatment for panic attacks nowadays, as more and more alternative treatments are made available for people who choose not to take medications. Meditation, breathing control and relaxation therapy are all effective non-drug treatments for panic attacks. Mastering relaxation is the opposite of letting anxiety take over, so it is important to learn about it. Also, natural treatments are better, as they help a person understand the disorder and its cause, helping them free themselves from it.

Anxiety Treatment:  The 3 Stages

Anxiety disorder is a condition that should be taken seriously.  With the everyday problems faced by people today, more and more are becoming susceptible and vulnerable to anxiety, worry, sadness, and pressure that they fall victim to what is known as a panic disorder.  There ar a lot of ways in treating panic attacks and curing panic disorders, but before anything else, it is important that you learn the basic information about them and what you can do to treat such a condition effectively.

There are different kinds of panic disorders as mentioned before, some being of a mild nature while others are detrimental and take a long period of time to cure and prevent.  The most common anxiety disorders so far include:

# General panic disorder
# Obsessive compulsive disorder
# Social anxiety disorder
# Phobia
# Post-traumatic stress disorder
# Panic disorders triggered by frequent panic attacks

Once the person feels that he is unable to control his panic attacks then it is time to treat panic attack through professional help and anxiety treatment sessions.  You will know if you are experiencing such episodes when you:

# Feel heart and chest pains
# When you hyperventilate
# Unable to control yourself from shaking
# Feel like you are about to pass out
# Constantly feel that you are going crazy

If you can identify with most of these anxiety attack symptoms, then the best solution is to consult professional help from a psychiatrist and undergoing certain kinds of therapy.  The most popular therapy to treat panic attack is behavioral therapy.  There are two kinds, namely:

# Cognitive-behavioral therapy – focuses on the cognitive or thoughts of the person when experiencing panic attacks

# Exposure behavioral therapy – exposes the patient repeatedly to the things he or she fears or is anxious about the most.

Together with behavioral therapy sessions is anxiety medication, usually comprised of effective antidepressants and benzodiazepines.  Though these can also be taken on their own, anxiety medications tend to encourage and develop dependency in patients and therefore should be taken under strict supervision and guidance.

The combination of the two options cannot ensure the cure and prevention of panic disorders, which is why researchers and psychiatrists of today encourage patients to engage in recreational activities that they are very much interested in.  They could go for relaxation techniques, physical exercises every morning, or a hobby or passion they have long forgotten.  Any of these, depending on what the patient is interested in, can be a good option in dealing with anxiety attacks.
