Essentially, Aspergers Syndrome is a more gentle illness than autism. The conditions belong to a superior cluster of neurotic ailments known in the US as Pervasive Developmental Disorders, or PDD for short. Both are generally characterized by irrational behavior and deliberate social self-banishment.
