Autism is a chronic neurological disorder which affects approximately 4 out of 1000 children between the ages of 3 to 10 years. The cure for this disorder is still not known. A whole lot of theories exist regarding the causes of Autism. Some talk about the brain cells, some feel the causes are genetic and others blame the environmental factors.

There are a lot of autistic people who do not want to be cured. They have learnt to live with this disorder and do not want to be healed. Some believe autism helps in the field of science, math and engineering. Even such individuals and families will benefit from autism research. Educating the society about this disorder will increase awareness.

Autism will no longer be considered a stigma or mental illness, like it is done in some places today.
